Senator Trump moved to amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting therefor a new title, to read as follows:

Eng. Com. Sub. for House Bill No. 2916 -- A BILL to amend and reenact §6-3-1a of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended;  to amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated §7-15-19; to amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated §8-15-28; and to amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated §16-4C-24, all relating to authorizing certain first responders to carry handguns; authorizing sheriffs to authorize reserve deputy sheriffs, and supervising entities to authorize ambulance crew members, firefighters, rescue squad members and emergency service personnel to carry handguns while engaged in their official duties; specifying the training required for them to be eligible to carry a handgun; and allowing reimbursement for the cost of the training.
